Washington County Gets $33K Compensation for Damaged Trees

Washington County is getting compensated for trees that were damaged by a herbicide two summers ago.

The herbicide, called Imprelis, was recalled by the Environmental Protection Agency in August 2011 after reports that it damaged certain species of evergreen trees, like spruce and pine.

Washington County will get $33,665 in compensation for trees in the Lake Elmo Park Reserve and near the Historic Courthouse. In return, the county agreed not to participate in a lawsuit.
